The HDPE silicon core duct is a high-performance communication duct specially engineered for air-blown installation of optical fiber cables. It is manufactured by co-extruding a high-density polyethylene outer wall together with an inner layer of silicone compound, forming a one-piece, inseparable structure with an ultra-smooth inner surface. The silicone lining reduces the inner wall friction coefficient to below 0.15, far lower than that of conventional smooth-wall HDPE pipes, enabling a single fiber optic cable to be blown or jetted 1,000 to 2,000 meters without intermediate splicing. The duct is wound on coils of up to 2,000 meters per drum, dramatically reducing the number of underground joints and manholes required in long-haul routes.
